Vuelta Arriba Café - Santo Domingo, República Dominicana

I went as a tourist to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic and wanted to try a nice Spanish style restaurant and decided to try Vuelta Arriba Restaurant. This turned out to be a very disappointing and unpleasant experience. The people at this restaurant are clueless about good customer service. Their waiters are all over the place, have no training or manners and don't have assigned tables. Management is obvisly very inexperienced. There is nobody to greed you when you enter the restaurant, and we had to make several attempts to finally get someone to take our order. After we order, we got the appetizer together with only one o the main courses served at the same time. We asked why they were serving the main course together with the appetizer and the young inexperienced waiter said that this was the way the cook gave him the dishes. After some time we got the other main course (I ordered the calamari with zucchini, but it came without zucchini). We ordered drinks and the drinks we ordered were supposed to have ice (they came without ice). After many unsuccessful attempts to get a waiter to get ice, I had to get up from the table and get the ice myself from across te street where their bar is located. Somebody from the bar said they were too busy to get us the ice. It was unbelievable. I can tell you one thing, I always hate it when I see people complaining about meaningless issues when they are at a restaurant, but these people are so unorganized they can drive anyone very unhappy with the way the restaurant is managed. I
Would never go there again, or reccomend anyone to go there. Next time I go to
Santo Domingo I will stick up with Pate Palo at Plaza Espana, which was excellent and can not be compared to this really unwelcoming place Vuelta Arriba Cafe.
